The Women’s Missionary Fellowship of First Baptist Church in Brayton met on Dec. 6 at 9:30 a.m. to pack Christmas baskets for 15 people. There were eight ladies attending. All ladies present brought various cookies and candies to fill each basket. Lindy Wilson opened in prayer and there was a time of refreshments. The minutes were read and corrections were made regarding the addition of six more people to receive the Christmas baskets.
Nadine Kading read a Thanksgiving letter from Wyzertta Titus and reported that she is adjusting in her new apartment and trying to cope with the loss of her husband, Gerald.
Melissa Nantz led in prayer for various missionaries that the church supports. Ila Pauley led the devotion from the Christmas Story from Luke 2:1-20. Each of the ladies read the verses. Ila then read from her book called “Quilted with Love” about the Tiding of Comfort, a wonderful story of a granddaughter and her ailing grandmother. The ladies agreed that they all need to send a tiding of comfort to each other.
Nadine Kadine will put the Carrs prayer letter on the bulletin board for all the read. Following this, the group sang “Joy to the World,” and then Sheri Clemsen closed in prayer.
The next meeting will be Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. and the location is yet to be determined. Hostesses will be Charlene Lilienthal and Lindy Wilson. In regard to Missions Cupboard: Office supplies.
