Flu-Mist available at no charge to Cass County Area residents
Through an agreement with the National Association of City and County Health Officials and Midimmune, Cass County Memorial Hospital has received 400 doses of FluMist to be offered at no charge to Cass County Area residents.
Cass County Memorial Hospital Home Care/Hospice is offereing the FluMist at no charge on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. CCMH Home Care/Hospice is located at 1500 E. Tenth Street in Atlantic. They have already administered more than 300 doses to Cass County residents during the 2008-09 flu season. Historically, Cass County experiences its first confirmed case of influenza sometime in January.
FluMist is a live attenuated flu virus vaccine indicated for active immunizations of individuals two to 49 years of age against influenza disease caused by influenza virus subtypes A and type B contained in the vaccine.
