Griswold Community Choir to present "A 1940's Christmas Homecoming" musical

Members of the Griswold Community Choir will be presenting the musical “A 1940’s Christmas Homecoming” on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Griswold Community Center. There will be two performances during the day at 4 and 7 p.m., and tickets are $5 each and available at the door.
The ticket allows the holder a seat at the show as well hors d’oeuvres catered by Dusty’s served before the show, popcorn served during the performance, and dessert catered by “Our Daily Bread” served after the performance.
“The drama and music take us on a journey back to the 1940’s for a moving story of love and sacrifice,” organizers wrote about the musical’s story. “Lt. Edwin Berry is stationed overseas during World War II and has been chosen to celebrate Christmas at home with his family for a special Christmas homecoming. He is later called to a special mission to save lives making his Christmas homecoming an impossibility. Through this touching story, the true meaning of God sending His Son to earth is dramatically illustrated. The music is filled with upbeat big band arrangements, carols, and beautiful songs of reassurance.”
Organziers also say those who attend the musical who are in the service are encourage you to wear your uniform.
