ATLANTIC – On Tuesday, Oct. 21, Atlantic Police Officers discovered that the front door of the Atlantic Theatre had been forced open. It was determined that the break-in occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 2:48 a.m. Tuesday, according to a department press release.
Missing is an undetermined amount of cash and numerous items of candy from the concession area. Damage to the building and equipment is estimated at $2,000.
According to Lt. John Parsons of the Atlantic Police Department, there are no suspects in the robbery, but other break-ins or attempted break-ins were discovered Tuesday morning and they may be related incidents. Parsons said the theatre doors were probably forced open with a pry bar or other metal object to gain access.
Anyone with possible information about the robbery should contact the Atlantic Police Department at 243-3512.
