IVRS to host reception

ATLANTIC – Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services will be hosting a reception to commemorate October as National Disability Awareness Month. The reception will be open by invitation and will be held on Oct. 30 at the Atlantic Country Club.
According to IVRS Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Roger Carter, state legislators and candidates for office have been invited to the reception. At the reception, a proclamation from Iowa Governor Chet Culver will be presented, declaring October at Disability Awareness Month. In addition, the hour-long program will include information about disabilities in the workplace and statistics about employment of persons with disabilities.
Located in Atlantic, Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services is an employment agency that helps place persons with disabilities into the work force by matching them with jobs and careers. The reception will also be celebrating success stories of those who have used the agency.
