Aug. 1 - 3, 2008 will be a busy time in Audubon. Audubon will be celebrating its 58th Annual Operation T-bone Celebration. Please feel free to come join in on all the activities. For more information please call 712-563-3780.
The event will kick-off on Friday, with the retail “No Bull Sale.” Then at 6 p.m. have supper with the Audubon County Fair board. After the sun is finished shining, you will be able to see a sparkle in the sky from a fireworks show. Following the fireworks there will be a teen dance. On Saturday, Aug. 2, the events will start at 8 a.m. with the 8th Annual Audubon County Memorial Hospital “Running With The Bull” 5m/2m Fun Run and Walk at Albert the Bull Park. The Wheeler Power Show will be held on Saturday this year, our classic car show. Also, on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. you can find many crafts available throughout town.
As the morning passes quickly, join us for lunch and games in the park. Then take a break at 1 p.m. and enjoy the parade. Many other afternoon activities include: talent show, free entertainment on our City Park stage, chili cook off and fireman’s water fights. At 2 p.m. you can gather together with your classmates and tour the school buildings. A street dance begins at 8 p.m. We hope you enjoyed the day, but wait there is more to come on Sunday.
On Sunday, Aug. 3, join the Fireman for breakfast. Alumni tennis and basketball will also be going on.
Operation T-bone was created to celebrate the county’s famed livestock production. Still today, local cattle shippers feed numbers of cattle to prime grade and together sell them at the Kimballton Auction Company. This year the sale will be on Aug. 5.
We hope you will enjoy the festivities. Please call us at 712-563-3780 for any questions.
