AHS Band to give free kick-off concert
The AHS Band will be giving a free concert on Wednesday, May 28 at 8 p.m. in the AHS Auditorium. It will mark the “kick-off” event for the 2008 Band Trip to Florida. One hundred and twenty band members and chaperones will leave on Thursday for Orlando, which is the destination for thus year’s band trip. The group takes a major trip once every four years with funds raised from the annual Spaghetti Supper.
The audience on Wednesday night will be treated to a collection of popular Disney music from movies including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Incredibles, Aladdin, Snow White, the Little Mermaid and many more. The concert will conclude with a preview to the Trojan Guard’s performance at Disney World.
The concert is free to the public, and the community is encouraged to attend this informal performance to wish the band well on their tour of the Orlando area and enjoy some great music. Attendees will also be given the chance to “buy a shirt” for a band member. If there is a band member that’s special to any member of the audience, they will have the opportunity to buy a band trip shirt for that student. The cost to purchase a shirt for a member is $5.
“It will be a fun night and a great trip kick-off for our band members who have worked very hard all year for the privilege of representing Atlantic in Orlando.”
