Youth field trip enjoyed
Pam Auerbach, youth director, said, “A youth group from the First Methodist Church went on a field trip in the Missouri Valley area on Saturday, Nov. 10, making their first stop at a look-out tower along the interstate. The youths and two leaders climbed to the top and took in the fabulous view of the Loess Hills area.”
The next stop was The Museum of Religious Arts and a tour of the museum, where everyone had a great time viewing the over 290 Nativity scenes that were on display. They said it was very interesting.
Refuge visit
After the group had lunch in Missouri Valley and went to DeSoto Bend Wildlife Refuge, they took a ride around the lake, observing the site of the Bertrand excavation and spent some time in the visitors’ center.
The youth and leaders viewed the artifacts from the Bertrand and one of the highlights of the day was watching a couple of bald eagles. They then took a short hike and returned home.
Among those participating in the field trip were Pam Auerbach, Youth director; Judy Sandbothe, a youth leader; Ian McNees, Jake Auerbach, Austin Petty, Nathan Sandbothe, and Ethan Westering.
