Enjoy Apple Pie at Harvest Fest
Come on down to Harvest Fest Saturday, Oct. 13 to watch area residents compete for the title of Grand Champion in the fourth annual Apple Pie contest. Following the judging, Harvest Fest attendees can enjoy a slice of pie and ice cream.
Last year’s apple pie Grand Champion was Jamie Elliot, who runs the Spice of Life Deli on Chestnut.
Everyone is welcome to enter a pie in the Harvest Fest Apple Pie contest. Simply bring your pie to the Depot by 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 to register. The Grand Champion Apple Pie winner will receive $50 in AtlantiCash and the title of the “Best Apple Pie in the Land,” with second and third place winners receiving $30 and $20 in AtlantiCash.
The judging will take place at 3 p.m., and by 3:30 p.m. slices of apple pie will be ready for Harvest Fest goers to enjoy. Ann McCurdy says “We still are in need of two judges for the competition, so if anyone is interested please call the Chamber.”
