Audubon’s 57th annual Operation T-bone coming up Aug. 3-7

Audubon will be busy Aug. 3-7 as area residents and visitors celebrate the 57th Annual Operation T-bone Celebration.
Celebrating the Audubon area’s famed beef production; the Operation T-Bone Celebration includes activities for all ages.
“Operation T-bone was created to celebrate the county’s famed livestock production. Still today, local cattle shippers feed numbers of cattle to prime grade and together sell them at the Kimballton Auction Company. This year the sale will be on Aug. 7,” planners said.
Friday’s events include a retail “No Bull” sale, and a supper by the Beef producers.
Fireworks and a teen dance round off the day.
Saturday starts off running, with the seventh annual Audubon County Memorial 5M/2M Fun Run or Walk, at the Chris Jones Stadium.
The Audubon County Good Neighbor Service Council Breakfast will be held at the Memorial Building along with a bake and craft sale.
More shopping is available with crafts, vendor tables, store bargains, bake sales and a flea market will running during the day
The City Park will offer food and fun for kids. Kids games will be held in the morning and a hamburger feed will be available at lunch.
The annual Operation T-Bone Parade will be held at 1 p.m.
Other activities include water fights, a chili cook off and a talent show, capped off by a street dance that evening.
On Sunday, the firemen hold an annual fund-raiser breakfast and fire station open house. A classic car show is also planned.

8 a.m. -The seventh annual Audubon County Memorial 5M/2M Fun Run/Walk at Chris Jones Stadium
8-10 a.m. - Audubon County Good Neighbor Service Council Breakfast at the Memorial Building, for a free will donation. A bake sale and crafts will also be offered.
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Crafts, vendor tables, store bargains, baked sales and flea market
10 a.m. - Food available in City Park
10 a.m. - Kids games in City Park
11 a.m. - T-Bone Association Hamburger Feed at City Park (Raffle tickets for sale for whole New York strip loin and whole rib eye loin, sold at the hamburger feed line)
11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Omaha and Chicago Stockyards Memorabilia at the Cultural Center at the Library (Display items welcome)
1 p.m. - Operation T-Bone Parade
2 p.m. - Beer Garden at the City Park
2 p.m. - Talent Show - At the stage in City Park
