Winston/Miller wedding
Katie Winston and Grant Miller were united in marriage on April 2l, 2007 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic, with Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating.
Bridesmaids were Linsey Johnson of Iowa City, Bethany Rogers of Wiota, and Courtney Blake of Walnut, all close friends of the bride. The attendants wore full-length dresses of platinum, carrying bouquets of roses and carnations. Groomsmen were Grant’s brothers Justin Miller of Adel, Kelly Miller of Cedar Rapids, and Spenser Miller of Anita. The men were resplendent in black tuxedoes, with silver vests, and pink rose boutonni/res.
Parents of the couple are Duane and Kay Winston of Atlantic, and Dan and Marlene Miller of Anita. Grandparents are Earl and Aletha Miller of Wiota and Herbert Steams of Atlantic.
Wearing a full length A-line dress with a chapel length train and covered in beading on the bodice, skirt and train, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father. The groom proudly received his bride dressed in a white tuxedo.
The altar was decorated with two Azalea plants in memory of grandparents and friend Matt Rogers. The pews were festooned with pink and white bows.
Proudly carrying a basket of rose petals was Anna Young of Elliott, a dear friend of the bride, and with great honor, Clayton Jipsen, friend of the couple carried the rings.
Lighting the candles were Alec Madsen of Kansas City, cousin of the bride, and Gage Zellmer of Atlantic, longtime friend of the bride.
In charge of registering the guests before the ceremony was Allison Young of Elliott, a very special friend of the bride.
Doing a spectacular job of attending to the flowers was Patty Rogers of Wiota, and attending to the bride was Jill Miller of Adel, sister-in law, of the groom.
The couple left the church by horse drawn carriage provided by Gary Pellett of Atlantic and was delivered to the Cass County Community Center for a dinner reception. Hosting the event were Godparents of the couple, Gary and Connie Wiechmann of Lewis and Bill and Charlotte Riggs of Indiantown, Fla. Music was provided by Kevin Schlake of Dance to the Music.
After honeymooning in Europe, the couple now resides in Eagan, Minn., where Grant works for the 3-M Company, and Katie is attending Graduate School.
